Reiki Training:

Upcoming Dates: Sunday, March 17, 2024 – Level 1

Sunday, March 24, 2024 – Level 2

Recently, I was asked what to look for in Reiki training and finding a Reiki Instructor.

Nine years ago when I began my search for Reiki training in Minneapolis I had no idea what to look for. I was pretty much fascinated by the warmth of my practitioner’s hands and was curious to know where in the world she learned how to do that. I was delighted to discover that anyone can train to do Reiki, and I was excited that I didn’t have to travel far.

My original training is in the traditional Usui Reiki Ryōhō, the system of healing and spiritual practice produced by Mikao Usui, considered the founder of Reiki. The Reiki training I teach is in the traditional Usui Reiki Ryōhō. It was several years after my initial Usui Reiki training that I trained in two nontraditional branches of Reiki: Karuna and Sekhmet.

My training with Twin Cities local Reiki teacher, Teasha Elder has been wonderful, and she teaches several branches of Reiki. Teasha Elder is my Usui Reiki Ryoho teacher for all degrees of Usui Reiki. Additionally she is my Karuna Level 1 and Level 2 trainer. I learned Sekhmet Reiki online.

Here are some things to consider when looking for Reiki training and a Reiki teacher…

  1. Is the Reiki training online or in person?
  2. What is the cost of the training?
  3. Are Level 1 and Level 2 taught separately or in combination?
  4. What is the class size?
  5. What system of Reiki will be taught?
  6. How long will the class last, and will there be time included during the class for self practice and practice on other participants?

There are no right or wrong answers to any of these questions. They are only meant as a guide to help your search.

I offer in-person Level 1 and Level 2 Usui Reiki Ryōhō training. I started teaching Reiki in 2019 and have taken time to create classes that are open and responsive. I prefer small class sizes of 4 to 8 participants.

When I started training in Reiki, the classes were a stretch for me to afford. Because I desire Reiki training to be accessible and inclusive, I offer Level 1 training at $125, and Level 2 training at $145.

I consider Reiki to be a combination of a healing modality and a spiritual practice. My classes emphasize the history of Reiki, Reiki lineage and other Reiki Masters, opening up to Reiki, meditation, Reiki principals, the attunement ritual, learning Reiki healing techniques, and practicing Reiki treatments during class.

Next Reiki Level 1 class: Sunday, March 17; 10am – 4pm
